چکیده

The turbulent wake generated by a rotor interacting with outlet guide vanes (OGVs) is one of the dominant broadband noise sources in turbofan engine. An accurate representation turbulence therefore important for reliable prediction rotor–OGV interaction noise. This paper presents synthesis method based on spectral proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) that aims to reproduce desired velocity cross-spectrum along OGV leading edges where emitted due turbulence–OGV interaction. first developed frequency domain superposition vortical modes appropriate amplitudes. Fourier and POD are proposed represent two-point spectrum. will be shown highly efficient reconstructing flowfield near tip region large-scale coherent structure present. extension synthetic time also presented means white filtering technique allow generation time-varying signals cross-spectral characteristics. results show both one- statistics can closely reproduced. frequency-domain fan realistic fan–OGV configuration illustrated use linearized Navier–Stokes solver predict sound power radiation each mode. Overall levels at number discrete frequencies predicted compared against measured data. Agreement found within uncertainty measurement.

Random particle methods applied to broadband fan interaction noise

Predicting broadband fan noise is key to reduce noise emissions from aircraft and wind turbines. Complete CFD simulations of broadband fan noise generation remain too expensive to be used routinely for engineering design. A more efficient approach consists in synthesizing a turbulent velocity field that captures the main features of the exact solution. This synthetic turbulence is then used in ...

Artificial viscosity proper orthogonal decomposition

We introduce improved reduced-order models for turbulent flows. These models are inspired from successful methodologies used in large eddy simulation, such as artificial viscosity, applied to standardmodels created by proper orthogonal decomposition of flows coupled with Galerkin projection. As a first step in the analysis and testing of our new methodology, we use the Burgers equation with a s...

Proper orthogonal decomposition & kriging strategies for design

Future Work Conclusions The aim of the following research is to therefore remove this obstacle to the application of kriging whilst developing a strategy for use at higher dimensions. The goal of an initial investigation was therefore to determine if these hyperparameters should be tuned after every update, and to what degree they should be tuned, in order for the model to remain effective. Thi...

Proper Orthogonal Decomposition for Optimality Systems

Proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) is a powerful technique for model reduction of non–linear systems. It is based on a Galerkin type discretization with basis elements created from the dynamical system itself. In the context of optimal control this approach may suffer from the fact that the basis elements are computed from a reference trajectory containing features which are quite different ...

Parameter Identification in Cardiac Electrophysiology Using Proper Orthogonal Decomposition Method

We consider the problem of estimating some parameters (like ionic models or parameters involved in the initial stimulation) of a model of electrocardiograms (ECG) from the data of the Einthoven leads. To kee...
